Kate Cottrell, Founder
Education is about empowerment. It is the process of giving students the tools to imagine their world and the agency to make it a reality. With over 20 years as an educator—including 13 years in the classroom—I have dedicated my career to supporting the adolescent and teen journey with clarity and purpose.
Having lived in Colombia for 15 years, I navigate today’s admissions landscape through a distinctly bicultural lens. My own academic path, from an Honors scholarship at George Washington University to a Master’s in Education from Harvard, reinforced a core belief: Success is found not in a university’s ranking, but in its fit.
As a professional member of IECA and International ACAC, I stay in constant dialogue with universities worldwide to identify environments where students truly thrive. My goal is to serve as a knowledgeable compass, helping families filter out the external pressure and move toward the future with confidence and a reliable, honest perspective.
